One of my favorite drives in the city takes me through the "Universitet" area. This is the view of MGU, Moscow State University. It's one of the "Seven Sisters" skyscrapers built by Stalin. This area is green and beautiful druing late spring/summer. Newlyweds and recent graduates always get their pictures taken up here; the university is located at the top of "Sparrow Hills"--from which you have a spectacular view of the whole city. Here are two pictures of the view you can see from edge of Sparrow Hills: This is the famous Luzhniki stadium where the Olympics were. We saw the World Figure Skating Championships at Luzhniki last year; it was fantastic!

Married mom to two girls navigating the unexpected twists and turns of life in this impressive and sometimes daunting city. We're finishing up our ninth year of living here, and the city has changed so much during this time! I taught French and Spanish back in the USA and now I'm the Head of Foreign Languages in a Russian private school. We initially came here for my husband's job—but now he'll be transferring to London in September 2013. My job & volunteer position at the Sochi Olympics—and the girls' schooling—will keep us in Moscow for one more year until we join him there next summer.
