To End the Day on a Positive Note...

A manager at American Girl Place told us when we were there this winter that if we sent in a picture of the girls and their dolls with a Russian setting, it would definitely get printed in the magazine. I think we can do better, but here are few attempts for your viewing pleasure... My mom made the dresses the girls are wearing for Christmas and my mom and dad gave them the dolls for Christmas, too. They've been having so much fun pretending to be in Colonial Williamsburg in 1764 this past week... They even worked on cursive penmanship so they could write invitations to "Lord and Lady Templeton's Ball" for themselves!

This was a pleasant surprise to end my day!

My dresses look like they are having a good time going around Moscow with the girls, Felicity and Elizabeth.

Many, many hours lovingly went into sewing the dresses for weeks on end to be ready for Jan. 2nd when the girls arrived to visit.

How will I ever top last year?

Nice to see the dresses I know your mom spent many, many hours on!

I like the top picture. How about one in front of St. Basil's?

Good luck with American Girl magazine!
Also, Tamara, I hope you do not mind, I copied your Novodevichii picture and used it as my screen saver at work - it looks beautiful! We have a couple of old Muskovities in our company - they loved the picture.

Rachel - I think in front of St. Basil's would be the best as everyone would recognize that it was Moscow.

Olga - I agree how beautiful the picture is of Novodevichii is. I did not see it as it was Xmastime and visiting the park was out. I think Tami should enlarge it and have the picture framed.

What lovely pictures, especially the first one. I hope it gets put in!

Do you think the magazine would like Kenya? I know of at least four Samanthas in the Nairobi area -- three of them on our campus.

You know they want St. Basil's.

St. Basil's is undoubtedly what they want - though perhaps any onion domes would work, though I'd just HAVE to take their picture in front of some really STALINST bit of architecture, just for fun. And see it not get in.

I am certain I've said it before, but you must have the loveliest and most photogenic daughters imaginable!

Tina,
I have 2 computer screens in my office - one of the laptop and the another one just an additional large screen with a keyboard - they must have different resolution and the "temperature" set-up - the picture looks like an early morning on one and as at the sunset on the other. Both are beautiful.
You should go and visit and take more pictures.

Those dresses are GORGEOUS! And, the girls are just adorable!
I hope to see them in the magazine! (my daughter Stephanie has 5 American Girl dolls and still gets their magazine & catalogs)

Oh I love the top one-it has such an interesting background! Novodevichi convent, isn't it? I'd go ahead and send that one in to Am. Girl mag. The pic in your blog header too is really great!
