Happy Birthday, Mom!

A year ago today, my mom arrived in Moscow on her birthday. We stopped at IKEA on the way home from the airport...

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM! I know it's been a really awful few weeks for all of us... I'm so glad we all have each other... We love you!

And we never got the toilet brush at IKEA.

I actually flew out of JFK on my birthday, May 6, and landed in Moscow the morning of May 7 (over an hour early). You and Natalia were held up in traffic from the Victory Day Parade rehearsal so I waited for about two hours in the airport. The two of you walked right by me and my mountain of luggage when Natalia asked you if you could go back to get Grandma Streusel.

We had a fantastic visit but it flew by.

I miss and love you guys.

Yes, the past month has been "something else". Wish we all were meetings at J&J's condo on Siesta Key.

Disclaimer: This picture was taken after I'd gotten up around 5:30 AM, left the house around 6:30to get a bagel for breakfast, taken trash to the dumpster, come home for the dog and taken her to the dog trainer (who was watching her), come home for last minute items to pack, dragged all my 50 pound suitcases out to the driveway and my flight bag which weight a ton, rode to where CT Limo was, ride to JFK, spent whole afternoon hanging in the airport terminal, boarded plane around 4:30PM, long flight to Moscow which was all night, landed and collected all the baggage and loaded it onto a push cart, waited two plus hours for my daughter as my flight was an hour early and she was over an hour late due to horrible traffic and then we went to IKEA on the way home. Do you wonder why I look like that? I also purposely did not wear make-up. At least my hair was OK and it shows how happy I was to be hugging my granddaughter.
