Waiting...

In October on Manezh Square, outside of the Kremlin

It's the final countdown until the Olympics... Here's a link to an article that was in the "Russia Beyond the Headlines" insert inside The Washington Post a week ago.

I've been visiting your blog off and on for several years now. Don't get much time to spend online, but I just wanted to let you know I certainly enjoy all your posts. You and your girls are just adorable, I love how you portray Russian/Moscow so honestly, respectfully, and that while it is a second home for you, you post things that native Russians might gloss over. I spent 1.5 years in Russian (Pskov, Novgorod, Petrozavodsk) and have been able to come back a few times (to St. Pete, Moscow, Kazan), and even though I feel like I know Russia better than the average American, you give me so much more to see and think about than my time allowed me.

Congrats to your family on the move to London, and also on volunteering in Sochi. You guys have such an awesome life, and I envy all the experiences you have had abroad.

Keep up the great work with the blog and all other spheres of life. Желаю вашей семье самого, самого лучшего во всём!!

I keep waiting for the phone to ring and have it be you telling me that you are assigned to the US Figure Skating Team. When are they ever going to let the volunteers know their assignments?

Good post! I also visited Sochi ;) and I liked the people who live there. I talked with other Russian tourists who come to the Olympics and heard a lot about. And it's all thanks to http://echoee.com/. It really is the best Russian language courses.
